Schorch are already meeting the new safety requirements to IEC 60079-7 for explosion-protected high-voltage machines, type of protection ’Increased Safety’.

This new, tighter safety standard calls for a winding test under gas to prove that the are no glow discharges in the stator winding.

The new requirements, becoming mandatory w.e.f. 01 August 2006, will apply to all EExe HV motors > 6 kV.

Schorch have developed an insulation system which meets the new requirements and which is available now.

It has been tested and certified by PTB.
