USA: Scrap metal recycling
using SCHORCH drive technology
SCHORCH, a world leader in the supply and manufacture of high voltage electric motors, has succeeded in securing a notable order of 4 pcs. 9,000HP, 450rpm, 4,160volt, 60Hz Wound Rotor Motors from Hugo Neu Schnitzer - USA. These state of the art, highly specialised motors will drive the largest shredders (hammer mills) ever seen in the USA.

These shredders are a contribution to a “Greener” re-cyclable society in which more than 50% of the worldwide steel production is produced from scrap.
This advanced technology in Mega-Shredder design opens up tremendous opportunities for the scrap metal industry. The ability and versatility of these motors to help turn scrap metal into profit is almost boundless.
Examples of this can be seen when a complete automobile is shredded into tennis ball-sized or smaller pieces of scrap in a matter of just a few seconds. Even entire ships, dismantled into segments, are shredded and recycled with equal ease.

Schorch has established a reputation for supplying shredder drives. More than 200 shredder motors were supplied to the US over the last 35 years.
